i am a memeber of the Enfield Hunters Club in Ct.

On wednesday february 10th we will be hosting Karen Jarmoc State rep. in regards to the recent increases in our fees for hunting , fishing and state parks . Many of us sportsman feel this to be an unfair tax burden applied to us by the state ,

Karen Jarmoc has now gotten together with various towns , clubs and sporting groups ( Ct sportsmans alliance ) and has stated she is fighting to get this wrong corrected

The new fees applied to the bill were originally only to be 20% and in the 20th hour someone wrote in 100 % and never gave all who sighned the bill notification of said increases , this applies to residents and non residents .

I would welcome any Mass. residents to this meeting to aid in our preparedness of the issue of reform on this bill . Please note this meeting is a fact finding meeting and not one for everyone to complain and blow off steam and frustration over the increases , we need to get her informed well in an effort to aid all us sportsman weather a resident or not.

may i add to this post...

there are a few dedicated orginazations right now working, and making progress towards the reduction of all the outdoor use fees in Connecticut. PLEASE for any mass anglers buying a non resident CT liscense, WAIT UNTIL APRIL!!! by then the bill to reduce fees will be introduced and with any luck passed, saving you some hard earned money. CT has its head way up its you know what on this, and they are starting to realize it. some more hard pushing on the part of CT sportsman has prompted a few senate members in hartford and new britian to introduce a bill reducing the fees.

wait for it, save the money, and use it to buy a new sox cap or a bleacher seat.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna hold off and wait to see what happens then. But I will have to get one either way Salt, and Fresh since I'm gonna be storing one of my boats on the Thames this spring.

Good luck guys, and I hope it all works out for everyone. Keep up the good fight.
