Just bought a used gun (marlin 336 lever action .35) at R&R. They said that if i wanted a trigger lock i would have to buy one. From my LTC cuorse i took i was under the impression that a suitable trigger lock HAD to be supplied by the gun store upon purchase.
If anyone agrees with me could you please post a (official) website that states that they should have supplied me with one.
thanks guys
M.G.L. c. 140, §131K (http://www.mass.gov/legis/laws/mgl/140-131k.htm) states that a state approved safety device must be sold with the weapon. This places the burden on the dealer to provide the safety device and does not allow the dealer an option of letting the purchaser provide a trigger lock.

I have a couple of new cable locks witch are the type you need for your lever gun. I would be happy to give them to you if you still need them. I live in Granby so no problem in getting them to you.

I so agree, I haven't been back to R&R since I had my bow tuned and a new string put on. It cost me big bucks to get it done and the day it was done I took it home and shot 4 arrows and the string started falling apart. I took it back the next day and they said they didn`t guarantee the string because it wasn't there string because they purchased it from a supplier. I talked to the owner and he said the same thing. I told him that he will never see my face there again. I took it to someone else and it turns out when R&R put the arrow nockrites on the string they crimped them too tight and cut the string. So I had to pay twice for the string job. I will buy on line rather than set one step in there door, and I will guaantee I will pay less even with the shipping. R&R Mad1

i gotta agree with being disapointed with R&R. Cant comment on the guns as i'm not an owner and know little about them, however when i fish the swift ive stopped by there in the past and tried to get them to give me input on flies and theyve basically been useless in that department. Actually, i had a friend who bought a gun from them once and it had a problem of some sort.. when he tried to return it to get it fixed they tried to pretend they weren't responsible... weird

The guy buys a gun from them and they cant throw in a $2.00 gun lock?
I mean how stupid are they, from a legal stand point, just to cover thier butts you would think they would have given him one.Smashhead

They will ship to any Federal Dealer you want, for the transfer.I have them send it to Nick's, it also a good way to keep these local shops humble if you know what I mean.
Two years ago my buddy wanted a Savage #10 predator rifle in 22-250 all of the gun shops in this area said none could be had for four months, well
yes they were hard to get,but I found one on Gunbroker in Oregon, shipped to us brandnew in the box cheaper than we could have bought it here,if they had one. So there you go,I have bought about five firearms on the site and have had no problems.
