Ct rvier team trail is having an open T 6-2 $100 entry plus 20 for membership, 5 fish limit so you can fish alone or in a team, $20 bucks to park. and I believe they are charging use of dock space if you come down from oxbow, boy lots of $$ for this one!

Mad1 I wouldn't fish or launch at Brunelles for anything short of savig a life. Those money hungery idiots don't deserve the business they get. You can't even visit a docked boat owner who is getting gang raped buy the Brunelle clan for dock fees without paying to park. My son's father in law pays them around $3000 a year and we need to pay to visit the boat. They are the ones who always discourage other points of access to the river. Mad1

Well despite pouring rain all morning and having to pay Brunelles that 20 bucks, only 10 boats showed upNotsure. We won the tourney with 5 smallies for 14.68 lbs, We struggled in the first part of the day as we worked up the river with only 2 small fish in the boat by 10, then on 3 castsFishing1Fishing1Fishing1, Dave got a 2-2, 2-12, and 2-14! Then off to a few more spots where he got a 3-1 followed by me getting another 2-14. fished the next few hours catching many 1.5-2 lbers and Dave had a 3.5 jump offSwear1, went back to the 3 fish in a row spot and Dave got another 2-14Grinning1. Made the run back and won the Tourny. 2nd was 12.5 lbs for largies including a beautiful 4.9 lm and lunker smallie for the day was 3.96. Always fun to winBeerchug

Congratulations on the win and for sticking with it in lousy conditions. Would have been nice if more boats showed up so you had a larger pot. Thats a nice batch of smallies. What were the main baits you were using, plastic or crank baits?

Thanks, I caught fish too! But you gotta understand fishin with Dave aint that easy, He is way more aggressive than I am and when you run the boat and TM, you get all the first casts, He got maybe 10 fish to my 6 during the day and only one of mine was kept of our top 5, but who cares? its a team effort and we have been a well oiled machine for years. We constantly are switching baits until we find the one that works and then we zero in on what seems to be working best. We both operate the boat when one is busy landing fish , wether it be on the tm or the big motor. .being that all tourney's are money in the bank for us, I don't want to give out specifics but none were on soft plastics!

Dave has had 8 wins this year, I think maybe 4 with me, he keeps track, I don't. a couple of 2nds and many top 10. he is fishing in the Northern Bass open championship in a few weeks, that would be a nice one to win. and now with my boat back running, we will have the 2 boat prefishing thing going on. Actually, this year, we did not prefish ANY tournies on the river as we have 40 years exp between the 2 of us. 20 years ago, we struggled to find 5 little keepers for the day and we never understood the term "target the big ones". but after all the years of long and many fishless days, we have learned what every Bassmaster mag says."follow the seasonal movements of bass and you will do well". It is that simple. Now that we both have families, time and money prevent us from fishing some of the bigger tournies out there, We used to go to Champlain almost every couple of weeks or the Hudson, but I haven't been to either in 7 years! But I know that what I learned in the 10 years I did fish it, will still work today. There is always next year...
