Fall Trout Stocking--Eager anglers will be pleased to learn that fall trout stocking is beginning soon. A total of 54,000 fish 12" or longer have been allocated among the five MassWildlife Districts across the state If water and air temperatures are suitable, fall trout stocking will begin the week of September 25 and be completed by Columbus Day weekend. The Trout Stocked Waters List (http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/dfw_trout_waters.htm) located on the MassWildlife website identifies all fall stocked waterbodies. The fish are coming from the MassWildilfe hatcheries in Belchertown and Montague. Anglers are advised to contact the District office in their area to determine when stocking occurs. come on, so their hatchery raised and taste like wet paper, i know you want to convert. i'll have you tossing fake salmon eggs on a #10 hook, with a big red and white bobber, before you know it. wait, is that a hatchery truck i hear, right from shore.

With these cooler nights and a little more rain the rivers should have cooled off nicely to get the fish stock from spring moving again. Might try it tomorrow afternoon for a little while on the Westfield River.

at Metacomet in Belchertown. I know I was there and brought my three home for supper. They taste better than wet paper. We had wet paper for supper the day before and the trout was definitly betterWink1 They where stocked about 3pm. Rainbow nothing else this time.

Were they being caught on the surface Jackie? I don't believe the waters have turned over in the lakes and ponds yet so they must still be deep? Fall trout here we come!!! Going out in the morning with my nephew to try our luck!
