Try to match your surroundings! And the biggest key I can give you is its not always the camo but the backdrop that you have. What I mean by this is the farther into bow season we go...the less leaves are on the trees! Make sure you sit in a tree that has some branches to break up your siloute! I sometimes try to sit next to or in pine trees for the reason that they hold cover all year and you are able to use less climbing pegs due to the availability of heavier branches!
Good luck to you and I hope you experience some neat stuff! Be patient, sit still and scan slowly! And remember..."Aim small, miss small"
Please wear a safety harness...don't mean to sound like a dad but I know to many people who have fallen from trees!
Good luck and keep me posted!

Don't forget to cover your scent use some type of de-sent detergent on your Camo then buy a bottle of cover scent and spray some on your clothes. Your scent will be key to your success as well as what Tacoma stated above.
Good luck, hope you've been practicing, and be safe.

Well, the story goes a little something like this.
We go out after a big snow storm, we decide to track some deer. Sledneck ends up shooting a little spike. Well, he is always saying how sharp his knives are. So, while gutting out the deer, he is taking a really long time. We are giving him a hard time about it. He Looks up and says "im a perfectionist" About 5 minutes later while reaching up to cut the esophegus, he kind of yelps and pulls his hand out rather quickly, we started laughing i beleave, because he almost cut his whole finger off. Anyways, my dad had to finish the gutting job off, and we dragged it out. ( see picture in Signiture of me dragging a deer in snow)
Now we always give him a hard time about it.

What can I say...I'm a perfectionist(with half a finger).....thats a doe...not a buck, lol...The interesting part of the story was what happened before I dropped that deer. I was following a nice track and saw where Buckman and Jr picked up the track, so I followed them, they were about 10 min in front of me. We came to an area where the buck was heading into a swamp and knowing the lay of the land, I guessed where he would turn and try to make an escape, so I let those two meatheads run him down while I turned back and headed down to another area to head him off. As I'm standing there in the trail deciding which run the deer will appear on, I look up and all I see is a nice 10 pointer staring at me, all I can see is from the neck up, me being the fruitcake I am, decided to go for the headshot, but he was outta sight before I could get the gun up. So I decided to get on the other side of the pines in hopes of gettin a shot. I got through and down into the low brush of the swamp and see him standing about 70 yds to my left. I take aim and shoot, and he was down. Another deer appears right next to wqhere he was and it looked like a nice doe, so I dropped it. I think wow, two deer in 10 seconds. Go walkin over expecting to see my 10 and a big doe and there's only one deer there. I picked up the trail of the big buck and waited about a half hour before tracking him down......loong story short, he was a clean miss. Went back to discover I dropped a spike w/ half an antler, and thats where I'll leave it to Jr to get his laughs at me severing my finger....very very funny right Jr. What can I say though...I'm a perfectionist...

Don't worry Sled your not the only one with out any feeling in a finger. I didn't to myself as well but not in the process of gutting a deer. Wife pratically panicked when I said, "oh no, you need to take me to the hospital now". I thought she was gonna kills us both on the way to the hospital.

Had a deer in the backyard today. Hunting looks promising this year. i want 3 this year! if i hadent missed twice last year i would have made that quota. No more missing now that the first year jitters are gone.

Camo - ALL camo - works okay IF you don't move too much. I've had turkeys ten feet from me while I was wearing ASAT, deer oblivious to me while in original Realtree eight feet below my stand. Shot a deer at six yards while wearing original Trebark a few years back.
Camo gloves and hat and facemask are realy important, since your hands and face/ears will move ten times as much as the rest of you while on stand. The best camo is stillness. If you fidget in the latest 'fashion' camo they'll pick you up every time.
