Is anyone else like me getting ready for the up and coming 2006 Deer Season. Although I love Spring and Summer there is nothing like waking up in the early morning hours of that first day of Bow Season. Anticipation is the word that I can describe as the warmer days turn to cooler nights with thoughts of monster bucks running thru my head.

So who's ready?Thumbsup

Can't wait to see all of your reports and photo's concerning this years 2006 Deer Season.

I pheasant hunt from time to time but don't have the added luxery of dog's to help. If anyone is ever up to it I'd be willing to travel to hunt with some new partners.

Never heard of Addieville, is it out East? I'm from Western MA and don't travel much past Worcester if I can help it (actually, I don't go to Worcester that much either, and I was born/raised there).
The areas I hunt most are Belchertown, Southhampton and Granby.
I don't have a dog to hunt with either, but the majority of those that do seem to spend more time hunting for their dogs than birds. I try to walk slow once I get in a birdy looking area and listen for one walking / scratching. I've found they can be pretty noisy if you listen right. Of course, I've also wound up chasing chipmunks and chickadees that were making the same noise.:)
I deer hunt only because pheasant is closed and I need to get out while waiting for the ice to thicken up enough to walk on. I guess I'm in the minority, but any type of hunting is better than working.

Addieville East Farm is in RI(Burillville), its a great place to hunt and the bird dogs they have and breed are unreal. I only get to hunt there because we know some people there, very pricey to be a member. Not too many places that hold birds around here, I hunt woodcock up in Maine at my camp, and hunt ducks, but haven't been doing much lately cuz I had to put my dog down.

Oh its on...the bow is tuned up and ready to ride and airwave to success! Aim small miss small...and when its you and that massive buck you have been seeing for years, staring eye to eye at 20 yards...remember one thing...don't screw it up cause you've worked way to hard to get that one chance!

Smokem' fellas...good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Fish, It was certainly the hardest thing I have ever had to do. It still tears my heart out when I think of her. That night I put down a case of beer and a bottle of Buca, what a mess.....Thanks1
