Maanglers Social Event

Jay and I were talking about having the first of hopefully many social events. We discussed maybe having it O'Mera's Pub in Holyoke due to its central location for our member base.

The date would probably be sometime Middle November Early December on a Friday or Saturday night. It would be open to members and family. Just throwing this out there for your feedback.

As long as the place has good root beer. lol. I was thinking over getting some people together and do some fishing somewhere.

Maybe we could get a guest speaker about ice fishing or striper run in the ct river, or something!!!

I would realy like something like a pinic at a place we could also fish. How about some place like Dufresnes park in Granby? We don't drink so what is the attraction of a pub for us? Or we don't even have to fish the fishing at Dufresnes stinks.

A social event is a nice idea but Im not 21 so a Pub wouldnt really fly for me. I would like to have one but we should see if we can have a get together for our eastern mass guys too. I kind of feel that they get left out of a lot of things that we do.

How about a Sunday afternoon at a VFW or Amer. Legion somewhere.
We can order up a couple of pitchers of root beer and diet colas(I'm diabetic), watch a Pats game, tell lies to each other, and discuss the upcoming season.
I don't think Jay would have a problem as long as he joined in in the rootbeers and cokes.

Gill are you a member of a American Legion? If so that idea sounds good to me as well. I like to have a few cold ones from time to time but not in excess and tell some fish stories. Thumbsup

Pats games + Fishing Stories +American Legion= always a good time.

but I could get a small to mid-size group into the Am-Vets in Chicopee on Montgomery St.
Under 21 is okay till 8p.m.

I forgot, that since the smoking ban, a lot of the private clubs are now requiring membership for admittance.
