Here's a picture of the rig I just purchased this spring. She's 14'7" long with a 15 Yama tiller & MK 3X transom mount electric. She sits atop a 16' roller trailer with powerwinch (too old to be cranking anymore!). She drives on real nice - no work, no worries. My sonar is a Lowrance X-135. With a 9" pitch prop, top end is 24.5 mph with two guys onboard and all the gear needed. Not too shabby for a neat little Quabbin rig and she'll do OK in most large waters as well as small ponds - if I can get it in.

I tossed in 7 grand on top of the trade Tongue1 ......Seriously how do you like the boat, it looks sweet....What size motor is on that? I'm probally going to trade in my pontoon for a similiar boat like yours this winter. I just don't use it enough and I think I'm better off trailering a boat up to Vt when I go there, and still have it here to fish!

yea, that boat is awesome, you can really get into some skinny water with it. It has a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke and is great on gas. we have had quite a few boats and this one is certainly my favorite because you can run out off shore on a good day, it'll handle some rough surf, but you can still get into the shallow flats and sight fish for stripers. We had a 2003 Sea Hunt 25' Bay Series, that boat was the balls but it didn't take well to rough conditions and it was a wet ride. The Jone Brothers is what most of the light tackle guides around here run and I love it....another boat I like alot is the 21' SeaCraft, but it is very pricey and draws more water, also has a full V so you need at least a 200hp motor.

Gary, Nice boat....When I owned my Pulse 186 checkmate, I grew tired of 73 mph and looked into the Allisons, you don't see very many up this way, but they are the best boat out there! My buddy has a XS-2003 GrandSport, and he know lives in GA, he had a 150 Merc on it with Land to Sea Heads and a few other features, it ran 88mph on GPS, he recently bought a 275 merc short shaft and has had it up to 114 mph and it wasn't full throttle......problem is no one will go on his boat anymore!!!

Is your motor stock? What type of prop do you have? I had put a 5 blade stainless prop on mine and lost about 4 mph top end but my hole shot was insane and handled like a dream, my buddy has always had a 5 blade also!!

Why, ever would you need to go even 40 MPH here in MA? its not like were doing any pro tourneys here. lol
For like the big lakes down south and stuff that are 30 miles long i can understand. But i guess around here its a bit to much??? Regardless, it is a very nice boat.

Buck, the Connecticut river is 405 miles long, not that you can boat the whole thing , but there are some big stretches!!!! Besides why do they make cars that go 200 mph?????Speed limit at most is 65!!! The RUSH!!!

I have owned the boat since 1995 when a 150 was the std engine, back then it had a rat 200 and did low 80's, when I put the 225 on it in 1997 and since then it runs low 90's with 2 guys and high 80's with a full livewell( which is most of the time). fishing big waters like champlain, the Hudson and so on, it has won me several thousands of dollars due to getting to places first and having more fishing time per day, example, running 80 miles one way on champlain takes me less than an hour, while boats running 60 take 1 hour and 20 minutes. You know how many fish I can catch in 20 minutes when they are on and you are in the right place at the right time? Answer:alot!. Also at the end of the day when everyone else is running back to the weigh in, I have a few extra minutes to fish and have money well over 10 tourneys on the last few casts of the day. Plus, it is just plain fun to run 90 with something that has no brakes and no windshield! Mine is considered slow by others with the same rig and when she gets rebuilt as I am writing this, should be able to do around 110, but I will probably keep her around 100, propped wise. I mainly fish in Vt on the river as it is only 35 minutes north and have a nice run from Hindsdale to Bellows of 30 miles and at 100+ I will be able to make that run in 15 minutes flat and WILL help me more with tourneys.
Fishstory, I run a modified 29 SRX prop at 6700 rpms, its a 3 blade over the hub. with the new rebuild, I will probably run a 30 or 31 and still be at 7000 on the tack. Even though it has the speed, we still use Daves jet most of the time, it just fishes better with a huge deck and can go in 2" of water at 55mph! Since the boat has been down, I have had just as much fun in my canoe and jon boat and saved tons of $$. But I also like the speed thing, still have a 79 z-28 that I have had since 84, currently has a blown motor but its mine and I will never sell it! My engine ( which blew up last Dec) is now being put back together as I write this, hopefully get it in a couple of weeks and we'll see how she goes!

fishstory, looks like you got the Allison bug! wanna go for a ride?, just wear some depends, did I mention how well it runs OUT of the water,I can take boat wakes at 80+ and not worry about tipping over, it just goes airborn and lands flat!

Gary, Years ago I was big into speed boats, gas prices and my daughter have slowed me down but someday I will play again! I know how well the Allisons ride, they are amazing. I been in a few, and it was the most stable boat at high speeds I've ever been in, besides a Power Play " but that was 38' and 1,200 HP. I would love to go for a ride with you someday!!! Do you know Bud from the river? He has a hydrostream with a tricked out 300 built by action marine, that boat was silly fast!!!!

I wish that was my boat.....My buddy worded at a Maimi Marnia and this was a guy he knews boat, it like 300 grand and cruises at 120 or something silly, and in 5 to 6 foot seas!!!!!

Max speed limit is 45 on any body of water in MA, with no restriction to HP, isn't it???? The stretch of river this guy bud used to be on was above the Holyoke dam, in the Ox Bo area on weekdays only, when EPO's aren't on the riiver....I don't know how fast exactly it went, but we were in a Bahja doing 78 past burnells marina and bud was putting his boat in the water, as we got to the bend by the ox bo, he was passing us, and when we got by the second bend he was by Mitches island....I was told mid to upper 120's....

Gary P

My motor belonged to Bob at Marine USA on his 600 lb drag boat, it wasn't fast enough for him and I was in the market for a new motor so he sold it to me, it had barely had break in time on it. We went for a ride on quinsig in worcester at 128 mph past the rowing team, it was too much fun!!! He told me I should be able to get it over 100 on mine once I learned how to drive it 90, which took almost 2 seasons. I said once I get passed in a tourney, I will max it out and 10 years later, no one has passed me. but since I blew the motor, I figured why not spend a few bucks more and see what I can do...100...105..110..? maybe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gary did your motor blow do to the Oxygenated gas? I blew mine years ago and that was the reason, the gas actually leans out the oil to much..My INS covered it, but this new gas is really raising Havic on marine motors!!!

By the way the fastest loaded bass boat is 118 mph, but this company is trying to shatter that!!

Stroker's are another true 100 mph boat as well as Bullets and a few others, I don't know about loaded but there are a few guys on the Allison owners.com website that have been running 120+ for a while with 285ss motors and Paul Nichols had one at 131! the problem is they measure an ave of 2 runs over a long course, It is hard to hold the boat at 110+ for that long as most Allisons don't have power steering, I can drive mine all day at 88-89 but trim it just a little over 90 and it takes alot to balance it on the pad, With the rebuild, I hope to have the power to run at lower trim in the upper 90's!
