Busy day today! Fished for stripers from 5:30 to 8am. No bait or bass around. Sad1 Got home and asked the wife [had to wake her up Eyeball Roller ] if she wanted to take a ride to Wells State Park. We & family will be camping there in July & I wanted to see the place ahead of time. Was pleasantly surprised! Very nice sites. Thumbsup I like quiet, especially in my now advanced years! Sad1 No electricity which results in no boom boxes, or tv's, or party lights, or refrigerators. Great! I do like, not having to dig a "nature's calling" hole, and being able to take a shower though. They had both of those modern conveniences. Grinning1 Also got to meet Jeeps1 [AKA Andy], who manages the park. Very nice person [no - I'm not trying to butter him up]. Was very helpful and we had a nice conversation [ except for when the pain in the a$$ campers that kept interrupting us]. Laughing1 If you are looking for a nice place to camp - this might just be the one you are looking for. I may go before the scheduled trip, or later in the season, but I will definitely be going again.
We left there and took a ride to the Swift R. I brought rods but didn't fish. Just enjoyed watching the trout swiming around. Don't have to actually fish to enjoy them. Fishing1 Like I said when I started this post: "Busy day today." Thanks agains Andy for your help. Smile1

Glad to meet you today and answer some questions for you. I'll be looking forward to your visit in July, or sooner.

I like your part of the state. Just don't get out there very much except for our annual foliage ride. Smile1

Great! I'll have to check it out! I love camping, but MA doesn't have much to offer.

When my daughters were younger we pretty much lived at Lake Dennison every other weekend. They don't have electricity either but every now and then someone would bring in a generator Mad1 I hope you don't have that experience and have a good time.

My son has camped there quite a bit with his family and has enjoyed it.
As far as the generators go.....I think bears are attracted to the smell of gas & have been known to destroy them during the night . Grinning1

To rabbit: plenty of woods. You can practice for your up & coming survival camp out! By the way, can we expect to see you on next years TV episode of "SURVIVORS?" Notsure Laughing1
