With our first kid on the way I'm thinking about trading in my truck. She's a 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT, 4wd, 4.7L V8, extend cab, not the quad cab, and is in absolute MINT condition inside and out. I just had the 50k mile service done on her during Christmas time (Front and rear diff fluid, trans fluid, transfer case fluid, fuel injection flush, etc... $550). I also just put on new front brake pads, rear shocks, and a bushing on the sway bar needed replaced (another $500). She's never been off-road and I only tow the boat locally... basically she's been used for commuting on back roads 95% of her life. Also, I bought a 100k, 5 yr, bumper to bumper warranty. If you want to pay to transfer it (probably $100 or $250) then it's yours. The truck was bought brand new in March of 2006 so you would have two years or 46k miles left (the truck has 54k miles).
Anyways, I hate the idea of trading her in so the dealer can sell it for more money and would rather sell it to someone for the trade in value. Edmunds lists the retail price at $13,575 and the trade in value at $11,150. If anyone would like to purchase her for trade in value (rather than the dealers making money off of it) then let me know. It'll probably be a few weeks before I trade her in.
I'll take her through the car wash tonight and take some pics.
