Long Pond in Rutland Ma is a nice pond. Good launch facility, plenty of parking, small beach area, room to set up a camp area, easy to find right at the junction of Rt 122 and 122a in Rutland Ma. Pond has decent bass fishing with the potential for 5lb + fish. plus good panfish. The largest I've caught there is 3lbs +. I have seen bigger. Reading the reports on iceshanty.com this winter they pulled a couple 6 + out of there.

Sounds good Noresman. Is September 23, 2006 still a good date for everyone?

It's about 12 miles west of Worcester. Its about an hours ride for me and about an hour and a half for fisher. I just threw it out there for a suggestion because I know it has plenty of parking (50 vehicles easy) and an area we can hang around and set up the grill. Nothing is carved in stone.

Is this to far of a ride for everyone? Please post some comments on what you would like to see or do for this event. Maybe we could just have a cookout somewhere instead of fishing is one of the many possibilities kinda like a end of the season get together to welcome the change of the season. Cry1 Grinning1

Is this the pond just off Rt 9 in Westboro? According to the State pond site it is a gravel launch with parking for about 15 vehicles. Not a big problem if it's in decent shape. Is there room to set up an area for cooking and hanging out?

I'm gonna have to pull out of this one as well. Not enough time on my hands. I gonna sit back and wait for the Ice Fishing Outing. But if anyone wants to hook up sometime Monday/Tuesday just drop me a pm.
