View Full Version : Assault Rifles
What's the general consensus here regarding civilian ownership of assault rifles?
Civilians can't own assault rifles unless they posess a federal firearms license for such. Folks who are licensed to carry long guns can only legally purchase and possess semi-auto type weapons.
A semi-auto can look like an assualt rifle but the trigger has to be pulled for each round fired. An assault rifle is capable of full auto, a machine gun if you will.
Now lets take a Remington, wooden stock, semi-auto, .308. It doesn't look like an assault rifle but it is just as effective as a Sporterized M-16 that looks like an assault rifle.
The bozos in Washington, the ban the gun nuts, and the freaks in this state thinks that it's the looks that kill.

What's an assault rifle? Notsure George Washington would have said that it was a muzzle loader.

That should clear things up =]
"Two key charateristics that identify "assault rifles" are full automatic fire and detachable magazines with a capacity of 20 or more"

If heard many explanations [ideas] of what an assault rifle was. Many of them were very strange. Some included rifles with, folding stocks, pistol grips, plastic stocks, a barrel shroud & more.
