View Full Version : Painting Aluminum Boat
What type of paint should I use to paint a 12 ft deep hull row boat? I want some type of paint that will be durable in the salt as I will occasionally bring this boat into harbors and around shore with calm waters. Any tips are appreciated. Also Im not looking to spend a fortune on paint as I know marine paint is quite $$$$. Notsure

Any paint you use is eventually going to get scratched. If the boats not in bad shape why not just get some rubbing compound and buff it down. If your going to paint the floor I would recommend using an exopy floor paint like they use to paint concrete floors. If it holds up to the lye from the concrete it should hold up to a little salt water.
Thanks noresman. I kinda got a thing in my head where I dont like the color of bare aluminum it looks to plain to me. I want to paint the inside of my boat a khaki color and the outside red.
