Wife sent me this yesterday....got mad Mad1 when I told her I hadn't forwarded it to anyone.....so here you go! Smile1

It is legit and the shelters that get the most votes get the biggest part of the money from $10,000 down to $500. Thumbsup

Please vote and in your comments say "TOAD made me do this". It might help with the home situation....HAHA.

Wife is really into helping animals. We have two rescues ourselves.

Anyway the way I figure it is, if we can vote to get Crazy Joe's mug on a calendar that folks have to look at...we can certainly vote to help a local animal rescue center maybe get some money. The pain and suffering is the domestic animal kingdom is out of control.

Thanks for your help....not only for the animals...but for me too.

Is this OK honey? Grinning1

Please see below.

Send this email to everyone you know and ask them to send it to everyone they know. Maybe post on Maanglers too? This is one of my Pet Forum friends, and the Rescue is in Bondsville. It is a nation-wide contest, so it doesn't matter where anyone lives, they can still vote. It is totally legit.

How do they stand on hunting? Most shelters are against it.

If they are on the record as supportive of hunting I will more than vote to support them, but see nothing on thier site to get a bearing.
thanks!

Really don't think they have any opinions about hunting....they are into the rescue of homeless/abused dogs.....never heard of an animal shelter that actually voiced an opinion concerning hunting....it's not what they are all about.

Hell, with that kind of attitude Simon lets just do away with the ASPCA, and all the other agencies both private and government that are into stopping the suffering and helping domestic animals find a good home.

I have 3 rescued dogs...infact one came from W. Virginia 3 years ago ...I seen it on petfinder and and emailed the shelter about how nice it looked..they got back to me and asked if I would like to rescue it...

I told them I lived in Mass. and they asked me to call them..I did...they offered to do a dog convoy where rescue groups go to shelters and rescue dogs....they do legs of travel..meaning one person will drive 100 miles and pass them off to another driver..

I picked my dog up in Farminton Ct...in a Hotel parking lot....

Never cost me a penny..but I did give a 100.00 donation to the Conn Rescure group who did the last leg of the trip...

so rescue a dog ..my last 2 came from O'connors...and now they are a kill shelter...

Al...we got our big guy "Dick" from TJO shelter 6 years ago.

Our little guy "Moby" came out of a kill shelter in Tennessee 5 years ago. Basically they were going to put him down, wife saw his picture on the internet, called and they shipped him up to Wallingford, CT Wal-Mart parking lot, where we got him. They had three big vans, and all were packed with dogs from down south getting adopted by folks up here. All they ask for is donations.

I'm glad that your out of your wifes dog house, Toad. Grinning1
Don't want to start a war here but I agree with SimonG. There was a place here in Boston [I think it WAS the ASPCA] that refused to give a gentleman a beagle because he was going to use it for hunting. It made news here locally. I will admit that this happened quite a few years ago, but I don't think things have changed much, if at all. I'm all for helping stray or injured animals but I believe they get plenty of $$$$, and just like other charities, a LOT of it gets lost in the shuffle. I'm currently feeding 3 cats [2 are 5-6 months old] that my SOB neighbor left when she went back to Haiti. Swear1 Like i said...don't mind helping out, BUT I believe many of the shelters do have an anti-hunting attitude [at least in my part of the state], and thats their right. Sad1

p.s. I'm just north of Boston. Anybody want to adopt a cat or three? They are very cute. Two tigers and one black. "FREE" Smile1
p.p.s. I called a shelter about 8yrs. ago. I was looking for a cat. They had two from the same litter. She refused to give me ONE. Said that I had to take both. I bit my tonge and hung up. I should have told her that I WOULD take the BOTH of them, and that I'd just EAT one!!

Thorntum...We out west here we already know that 98% of the folks east of 495 are aholes.

I'll take a cat...but I'm going to use it for hunting....I mean target practice.
